With contributions from Virgilio Smith, Cecilia Maria Belo de Assis, Abilio da Concerican Silva and Joanna Barrkman, the beatiful exhibition catalogue witten in English, Tetum and Portugese accompanied the exhibition From the Hands of our Ancestors (2009) at the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory (MAGNT). The exhibition was born from a collaborative relationship between the National Republic of Timor-Leste and MAGNT.

This book was produced as part of the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory's 2009 exhibition, which displayed works from the National Collection of Timor-Leste for the first time since the nation’s restoration of independence in 2002.
